The VOLT business resource group is a network of more than 600+ Wesco employees comprising vetrans, active-duty military and military supporters who represent many of the countries in which we operate. VOLT is a dedicated community that recognizes and champions the unique experiences of veterans that can be leveraged as we build, connect, power and protect the world.
VOLT
All Wesco employees are welcome and encouraged to join this dynamic group.
Our Mission
The mission of the VOLT business resource group is to be a strategic partner with Wesco to support our inclusive culture through continual learning, employee development, and engagement of veterans and our supporters. We aim to expand our global reach beyond the United States and to be inclusive of our veteran allies across the world. VOLT is open to all Wesco employees.
Recruitment
Our recruiting strategy is designed to enable qualified veterans to be successful in any position within the organization. By actively marketing to veterans for externally posted positions, leveraging our participation in the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, and ensuring our Wesco veterans are aware and able to compete for promotions, we enable our veteran employee population to better reflect the percentage of people who have served globally.

“I feel deeply honored to have the opportunity to contribute to our mission and to work alongside such dedicated and talented professionals. These past three years have been immensely rewarding, filled with learning and growth.”
Engagement and Development of Talent
The VOLT professional development team works to drive growth and support across the business for our veteran and veteran support community. To assist members with the transition from military to civilian work, we seek the perspectives of current and former service members both inside and outside of Wesco. We host professional development seminars throughout the year to inform members about different technologies, initiatives and opportunities across Wesco.
Community and Business Development
VOLT strives to make a positive impact on the lives of veterans and veteran families across the organization, industry and communities we serve.
VOLT Key Initiatives
Wesco VOLT Scholarship Program
In 2023, VOLT launched our annual Wesco Veteran Employee Scholarship program. This scholarship is open to the children of full-time Wesco employees who are members of VOLT. Each year, the program awards four individuals (high school seniors through age 25) with a scholarship to pursue military service, trade school or college.
Suicide Prevention Summit
The 2024 VOLT Suicide Prevention Summit recognized and remembered the lives lost to suicide and acknowledged the individuals, families and communities that have been impacted. Guest speakers raised awareness around suicide and shared messages of hope for veterans.
Veteran Housing Support
Annual proceeds from VOLT t-shirt sales are donated to organizations that provide housing solutions and supportive services for veterans.
Wesco Named Military Spouse Employment Partner
Wesco was recently added to the Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) list. This program connects military spouses with partners like Wesco, who are committed to recruit, hire, promote, and retain military spouses.
Our commitment to supporting our veteran’s goes beyond the individual and extends to their family. Wesco is honored to be a MSEP partner.
