Unifying and centralizing legacy building management systems across almost 20 locations and covering 200,000 square feet to enhance operations.
Implementation of entroCIM Central Intelligence Manager, integrating building management systems into a single point for command, control and analytics.
A financial services company in Ontario faced complex challenges in managing facilities and operational needs across nearly three dozen branches. The branches, acquired through both steady growth and mergers and acquisitions, operated on independent platforms due to the sites’ various ages and technological backgrounds. This resulted in inconsistencies in monitoring and control – particularly in terms of comfort, maintenance and energy management. The company needed a solution to unify and integrate these disparate systems and to help manage its growing portfolio from a central portal going forward.
In close collaboration with the company’s IT team, the entroCIM team at Wesco developed an approach that allowed the company to implement a single pane of glass (SPOG) dashboard that connected systems and integrated data from multiple sites. Once the solution was agreed upon, a plan for site-by-site deployment of a cloud-based access point was established, enabling control upgrades and other projects. API-based connectors to indoor air quality sensors at the organization’s headquarters brought additional insights into occupant comfort that could be easily expanded throughout their portfolio without requiring expensive vendor-based installation.
By unifying the company’s different systems into one aggregated platform, the teams were able to provide consistency in visualization and cloud-based workflow management systems. This meant that as new sites came online, additional training wasn’t required; branch operators could simply transition from vendor-specific frontends to the entroCIM interface.
This customized solution delivered a trusted, easy-to-deploy platform that not only integrated legacy systems but also aids in the prioritization of future projects and upgrades by providing analyses and reporting on site health and performance.
